Weekend update

We had a busy day at Wincanton last weekend, 5 runners kept Georgina and Laura busy. Demon Fou struggled with the pace early on but ran on well to finish fourth, he was up in the weights a huge amount for his win last time. Kilcara travelled and jumped well and despite being well beaten, finished a good second to a horse who is clearly on the improve. Clondaw Dancer did all the hard work out in front, jumping and travelled well throughout the race, he was not beaten too far and it was a good first run over hurdles. Blazing Saddles was unlucky to be almost carried out on the stablees band by the loose horse on the first cuircuit, he lost his place in the race and struggled to get back on terms after that however he ran on well at the end of the race and we be one to find his level once he is handicapping. Greenview Paradise has taken well to hurdling and despite her small stature, she should find a race at her level now she has a handicap mark. Nifity At Fifty is not the most straightforward horse and it was definitely an off day on Tuesday at Chepstow.

Tikkinthebox runs at Huntingdon this afternoon, he won well at Warwick in September, when he was the best horse in the race, he struggled next time out when back over hurdles, he is back over fences this afternoon having gone up in the weights. Stormy Flight runs in the NH Auction Maiden Hurdle at Hereford tomorrow, he ran well on his debut on soft ground at Stratford, these races are a great idea to find options for horses to race against horses who were bought for a similar price rather than having to compete against some which cost over £100,000. Two Sams runs at Plumpton, he is making his debut for us, having previously been trained by Michael Blake. He could be well handicapped if he reverted back to his novice hurdle run at Taunton.

We could have a busy day at Exeter Racecourse on Haldon Gold Cup day with a few entered including Orchardstown Cross. Dashel Drasher is entered up at Newbury to make his chasing debut, it looks a decent beginners chase with the likes of Champ, Birchdale, Beakstown and Vision Des Flos entered!
