9 Lives Challenge

Laura has been in training over the summer break as she aims to cycle 52 miles as part of the 9 lives challenge.

The brainchild of Wayne Burton, the 9 Lives Challenge brings together 9 beneficiaries of the Injured Jockeys Fund together to raise money for the charity. Over the course of nine days, these brave nine people aim to walk, swim, cycle, run and push a wheelchair the distance between Oaksey House, Jack Berry House and The Peter O’Sullivan House, 560 miles! They will be helped by a few famous faces Who will match their miles.

The 9 lives are Wayne Burton, Sarah Gaisford, Lee Davies, Katie Watson, Rebecca Hewitt, George Baker, Ed Barrett, Isabelle Thompsett and Laura.

Laura had a fall three years ago which brought her point to point riding to an abrupt halt. From the very first few days in hospital The IJF were there to support her and us in every way imaginable! They provided physio to continue the improvement made in hospital and Laura has made a better recovery because of them. An invitation to join the beneficiaries for the IJF holiday was accepted and much needed to refresh and recharge Laura’s batteries. However it was meeting the fellow beneficiaries which made the largest difference. Like minded individuals who have been through similar experiences understood and pushed you to succeed further.

This fundraiser is a way to repay The IJF a small part of what they have done for the beneficiaries over the years.

Please give what you can!
