Summers Over and Work Begins

We have enjoyed a great summer with lots of sunshine, the staff have been busy pressure washing and painting, our long standing sponsors, Brendon Powerwashers produce some brilliant machines which are well used at this time of year!

The horses have had an easy time out in the field, enjoying their holidays and there now slowly returning to work, and like the team, refreshed and ready to go.

We have had five in racing this summer, three runners tomorrow, Tikkinthebox and Phoenix Risen head to Newton Abbot whist Kings Castle runs at Wolverhampton. Tikkinthebox had very few races available to him this summer, roughly one per month and hopefully the ground at Newton Abbot hasn't gone too soft for him tomorrow! Phoenix Risen has been a revelation the past few months having found his form. Kings Castle will appreciate the step back up in trip and has Tarryn Langley riding who won on him last year at Newbury. Emberscombe is entered up later on in the week at Worcester and Wavering Down may head to Market Rasen on Saturday.

Georgina spent last week at the July Sales at Tattersalls with Mel Smith, searching out a new addition, they were successful in purchasing Fair Dinkum from the Hughie Morrison yard and we wish his owners the best of luck with him.

Gordon and Stuart have been busy shoeing the horses as they return to work and the team are exploring our quiet roads and the steady process of building up their fitness begins.

We are opening up the yard on Friday 15th September as part of National Racehorse Week between 2pm and 4pm, there will be cream teas and demonstrations from Pies Wilmot, our chiropractor and Leah Cunliffe our dentist. Opportunities to meet the team and the horses, including an ex-racehorse and our homebred foals! Please sign up to secure your place!
